Project Blue

Picture
We are passionate about creating opportunities for our church and community to serve those who struggle with basic human needs. Project Blue provides access to clean water for those in under resourced areas of India (and throughout the world). We believe that clean water is a basic human right and we'd love for you to join us in Project Blue!

Barb Food Mart

Are you new to Hillcrest or would you like more information about volunteering at Barb Food Mart? Our church has three volunteers that help the second Thursday of each month. We skip November each year due to our involvement with FMSC. When volunteering, you must be there by 4:15pm to get instructions and prep for the day. There are various stations that you may be assigned such as: dairy, produce, meat, stocking shelves, etc. The first time you volunteer you are paired with someone who is a veteran there. Everyone is super friendly and Joey, the coordinator of the volunteers, will email you reminding you that they are expecting you. If you have limitations, let her know and she will accommodate you. The pantry is open to anyone with children in the DeKalb School District who have registered to come shop. Again, we volunteer on the second Thursday of each month from 4:15-6:00pm at the Huntley Middle School on Fourth St.

Kitchen Ministry

Picture

In partnership with Love, INC, we provide and deliver kitchen items to families who are in need. We are always taking donations to refill our inventory. If you would like to donate to this worthy cause, we are usually in need of microwaves, pots and pans, casserole dishes, silverware, serving bowls, and bake ware. Your donations can be dropped at the church during office hours or you can leave your items at the north door.

Music Ministries

We have a variety of gifted musicians along with our worship leader who lead us in musical worship each Sunday. Special music including solos and ensembles are used to enhance our worship services throughout the year. We encourage others to share their artistic gifts with the worship leader in order to integrate various talents in our worship ministry. We believe that the creative arts reflect the creative nature of God and should be valued in communal gatherings.

Worship Ministries

Our audio-video ministry consists of volunteers who serve to operate the sound board and the computer/lyrics and videos for our Sunday worship services. Those with artistic talents are called to share their gifts by creating banners and sanctuary decorations. Our ushers assist with seating, distributing bulletins, and collecting tithes and offerings. These are important ministries which contribute greatly to our worship, and anyone interested in these areas are encouraged to serve.

Want to join us? We'd love to have you participate!
You can volunteer your time or donate your gifts so others can be packing hope.
